Injection is the default for peptides for a boring reason. Stomach acid and gut enzymes break them apart, and they are too large to slip through skin easily, so swallowing or rubbing on most peptides delivers almost nothing. Everything on this page is an attempt to get around that.
The attempts fall into a few categories. Oral semaglutide pairs the drug with an absorption enhancer and still needs a much larger dose to land the same exposure. Nasal sprays work for a handful of genuinely small peptides and give fast onset with variable absorption. A few entries are not peptides at all but small molecules chosen because they survive the gut.
The number to look for on each card is bioavailability. If a compound absorbs at two percent, the dose has to be far larger, and the amount reaching your bloodstream varies more from day to day than an injection ever would.
Orforglipron is an oral GLP-1 receptor agonist, and unlike most of this group it is a small molecule rather than a peptide, so it survives digestion as a pill.
