What is PEG-MGF?
Plain language first. The technical label stays, but it never stands alone.Overview
It does the same muscle-repair job as MGF but on a less-frequent schedule.
PEG-MGF is mechano growth factor with a PEG coating that makes it last far longer in the body.
What it's used for
A longer-lasting version of the muscle-repair peptide, used on a less-frequent schedule.
How does PEG-MGF work?
What it does in the body, and where.PEG-MGF is MGF with a polyethylene glycol coating attached, a standard drug-industry technique for making a molecule last longer.
- 01Same satellite-cell activation as MGFThe active part is unchanged.
- 02The PEG coating slows clearanceTurning a minutes-long half-life into hours, so it can be injected less often.
- 03The trade is localityMGF's appeal was acting where you injected it. Making it last longer means it also spreads further, which somewhat undermines the point.
- 04No human trialsSame as MGF.

What else is it used for?
Each use below carries its own evidence level. Approved means regulators have cleared it for that purpose. Investigational means it is in trials. Early research means it is being studied and is not established.

How much, and do you cycle it?
The range, and whether you take breaks.0.2 up to 0.4 mg per dose (start low, increase slowly), 1-2x per week. No established scheduleNo range
No published study has established how long to take this or whether a break is needed. Schedules quoted online come from vendors and forums, and different sources disagree.
How long does it stay in the body?
The half-life, and where the figure comes from. Not establishedCommunity practice
Attaching PEG to a peptide does extend how long it lasts, which is why the days-long figures sound plausible. No study has measured it.

How do I dose and price it?
Enter your vial and your dose. Pick a mix. We show the draw and the cost. The vial holds a fixed amount of drug. Adding more water does not make more drug, it just spreads it thinner, so you draw a bigger number on the syringe for the same dose.

How do you store it?
Before mixing, and after.Dry powder in the freezer or fridge. Once mixed, fridge, and use within about a month.
Unmixed lyophilized PEG-MGF keeps for a long time cold. Once you add water the clock starts: most reconstituted vials hold up for roughly 28 to 30 days at fridge temperature. Keep it out of light, and do not freeze it after mixing.
What are the side effects and cautions?
Known cautions and warnings for this compound.Who should avoid it
- No human safety data exists, so nobody can say who should avoid it
- Pregnancy
- Active cancer, as a precaution given the growth mechanism
Stop and get help
- Anything unusual, since there is no known safety profile to compare against
- Signs of an allergic reaction such as face or throat swelling, hives, or trouble breathing
Common effects
- Unknown in humans. This compound has only been studied in cells and animals

Where this page says nothing is established, that means nobody has studied it, not that a compound is safe.
Is PEG-MGF approved?
And where the numbers on this page come from.No. PEG-MGF is not approved for any use, anywhere. It is sold labelled for laboratory research only, and there is no legal route to buy it for human use.

What has happened recently
We have not yet written a full regulatory note for this compound. The status above is current as of the date shown.
Banned in drug-tested sport. Most research peptides are prohibited under WADA's S0 category, which covers any substance with no approval from any regulatory authority for human use. That means a compound can be banned without ever being named on the prohibited list. Check with your own anti-doping authority rather than assuming absence from the list means permitted.

Sources
- FDA, bulk drug substances for compounding that may present significant safety risks(2026)FDA states that it has not identified any human exposure data on drug products containing pegylated mechano growth factor administered by any route, and that it therefore lacks the information needed to know whether the drug would cause harm in people. It also flags immunogenicity risk from aggregation and peptide-related impurities, and difficulty characterising the active ingredient. This is a regulator recording an absence, which is the strongest statement available about a compound sold by more than twenty vendors. It is not a safety finding and it is not an efficacy finding.
- FDA, bulk drug substances used in compounding under section 503A(2026)Defines what the categories mean. Category 2 is a compounding eligibility judgement about safety risk pending evaluation, not a finding that a substance does or does not work. It also records that FDA does not intend to place substances nominated on or after 7 January 2025 into these categories at all, so the absence of a newer compound from the list means nothing either way.
