01

What is MGF (Mechano Growth Factor)?

Plain language first. The technical label stays, but it never stands alone.

Overview

It activates the stem cells that rebuild muscle, so it is injected near a worked muscle to speed repair.

The technical version

MGF (mechano growth factor) is a variant of IGF-1 that muscles produce locally after intense exercise.

What it's used for

A local muscle-repair peptide that helps rebuild muscle after hard training, injected near the worked muscle.

02

How does MGF (Mechano Growth Factor) work?

What it does in the body, and where.

MGF is a variant of IGF-1 that your muscles produce themselves after hard training. It is a repair signal, not a growth hormone.

  1. 01
Muscle makes it in response to mechanical stress
Hence the name: mechano growth factor.
  2. 02
    It activates satellite cells
The stem cells that sit alongside muscle fibres and are recruited to rebuild them after damage.
  3. 03
    It clears within minutes
Which is why it is injected close to the muscle worked, and why the pegylated version exists.
  4. 04
    Human evidence is essentially absent
The physiology is established. Injecting it as a supplement is not studied.

03

What else is it used for?

Each use below carries its own evidence level. Approved means regulators have cleared it for that purpose. Investigational means it is in trials. Early research means it is being studied and is not established.

The range, and whether you take breaks.

0.1 up to 0.2 mg per dose (start low, increase slowly), post-workout. No established scheduleNo range

No published study has established how long to take this or whether a break is needed. Schedules quoted online come from vendors and forums, and different sources disagree.

How long does it stay in the body?

The half-life, and where the figure comes from.

How do I dose and price it?

Enter your vial and your dose. Pick a mix. We show the draw and the cost.

The vial holds a fixed amount of drug. Adding more water does not make more drug, it just spreads it thinner, so you draw a bigger number on the syringe for the same dose.

07

How do you store it?

Before mixing, and after.

Dry powder in the freezer or fridge. Once mixed, fridge, and use within about a month.

Unmixed lyophilized MGF (Mechano Growth Factor) keeps for a long time cold. Once you add water the clock starts: most reconstituted vials hold up for roughly 28 to 30 days at fridge temperature. Keep it out of light, and do not freeze it after mixing.

08

What are the side effects and cautions?

Known cautions and warnings for this compound.

Who should avoid it

Check these before anything else.
  • No human safety data exists, so nobody can say who should avoid it
  • Pregnancy
  • Active cancer, as a precaution given the growth mechanism

Stop and get help

These are emergencies. Seek care.
  • Anything unusual, since there is no known safety profile to compare against
  • Signs of an allergic reaction such as face or throat swelling, hives, or trouble breathing

Common effects

Expected, and usually mild.
  • Unknown in humans. This compound has only been studied in cells and animals

What regulators say

Where this page says nothing is established, that means nobody has studied it, not that a compound is safe.

09

Is MGF (Mechano Growth Factor) approved?

And where the numbers on this page come from.

No. MGF (Mechano Growth Factor) is not approved for any use, anywhere. It is sold labelled for laboratory research only, and there is no legal route to buy it for human use.

What has happened recently

We have not yet written a full regulatory note for this compound. The status above is current as of the date shown.

Banned in drug-tested sport. Most research peptides are prohibited under WADA's S0 category, which covers any substance with no approval from any regulatory authority for human use. That means a compound can be banned without ever being named on the prohibited list. Check with your own anti-doping authority rather than assuming absence from the list means permitted.

  • FDA, Bulk drug substances nominated for use in compounding under section 503A, updated 14 May 2026(2026)
Mechano growth factor appears on this list, in category 3, which FDA titles bulk drug substances nominated without adequate support. Read what that does and does not mean. Somebody asked FDA to allow MGF in compounded medicines, and the agency's position is that the nomination arrived without enough supporting information to evaluate it. That is not a safety finding: category 2 is the bucket for substances raising significant safety risks, and MGF is not in it. It is also not an endorsement, because category 1 is the bucket for substances actually under evaluation, and MGF is not in that one either. For context on the company MGF keeps here, GHRP-2 and GHRP-6 sit in the same category 3 list, while ibutamoren mesylate and kisspeptin-10 are the peptide-adjacent entries in category 2. The absence of a published trial remains true. What has changed is that a regulator has now said something on the record, which is worth more to a reader than an empty section.
