01

What is Mazdutide?

Plain language first. The technical label stays, but it never stands alone.

Overview

It works on appetite and metabolism at once for weight loss and better blood sugar. It is approved in China and still in trials elsewhere.

The technical version

Mazdutide is a dual GLP-1 and glucagon agonist, similar in design to survodutide.

What it's used for

An experimental weekly weight-loss shot (approved in China) that also improves blood sugar, cholesterol, and uric acid.

02

How does Mazdutide work?

What it does in the body, and where.

Mazdutide is the same GLP-1 plus glucagon combination as survodutide, developed separately and furthest along in China.

  1. 01
    Two hormones, intake and expenditure
Appetite falls through GLP-1 while glucagon nudges the body to burn more.
  2. 02
Approved in China, in trials elsewhere
Its regulatory position differs by country, which is unusual in this class and worth checking against where you are.
Receptors
HITSGLP-1glucagon2

Hits 2 receptors at once.

03

What else is it used for?

Each use below carries its own evidence level. Approved means regulators have cleared it for that purpose. Investigational means it is in trials. Early research means it is being studied and is not established.

  • Long-term weight management, which is its approved use in ChinaClinical use
  • Blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes, also approved in ChinaClinical use
  • Improving cholesterol and uric acid levelsEarly research

How much, and do you cycle it?

The range, and whether you take breaks.

2 up to 9 mg per dose (start low, increase slowly), weekly. Not cycled in the trialsTrial dose

Given continuously for the whole study period: GLORY-1, 48 weeks. The dose is stepped up at the start, which is a ramp rather than a cycle, and no trial in this class built in a planned break.

05

How long does it stay in the body?

The half-life, and where the figure comes from.

7 to 45 days, dose dependentTrial protocol

The range is wide because the half-life rises with dose. The 60 to 100 hours quoted on vendor sites appears to come from monkey data rather than human.

How do I dose and price it?

Enter your vial and your dose. Pick a mix. We show the draw and the cost.

The vial holds a fixed amount of drug. Adding more water does not make more drug, it just spreads it thinner, so you draw a bigger number on the syringe for the same dose.

07

How do you store it?

Before mixing, and after.

Dry powder in the freezer or fridge. Once mixed, fridge, and use within about a month.

Unmixed lyophilized Mazdutide keeps for a long time cold. Once you add water the clock starts: most reconstituted vials hold up for roughly 28 to 30 days at fridge temperature. Keep it out of light, and do not freeze it after mixing.

08

What are the side effects and cautions?

Known cautions and warnings for this compound.

09

Is Mazdutide approved?

And where the numbers on this page come from.

No. Mazdutide is not approved anywhere and is currently in company-run clinical trials. There is no legal route to obtain it outside a trial. It is approved in China, but not in the United States.

China: Approved by China's regulator in 2025 for weight management, later for type 2 diabetes. This does not change the United States position above.

What has happened recently

Approved by China's regulator in 2025 for weight management and later for type 2 diabetes. It is NOT FDA-approved. The FDA has issued a warning letter to a US peptide vendor selling it, since 'research use only' labelling does not make it legal for human use.
