01

What is Survodutide?

Plain language first. The technical label stays, but it never stands alone.

Overview

It copies your fullness signal and also nudges your metabolism to burn more energy, which is why trials show strong weight loss and better fatty liver. It is still experimental.

The technical version

Survodutide is a dual GLP-1 and glucagon agonist.

What it's used for

An experimental weekly shot for weight loss and fatty-liver disease, with strong early results. It works on two metabolism pathways.

02

How does Survodutide work?

What it does in the body, and where.

Survodutide pairs GLP-1 with glucagon. Glucagon is the counterintuitive half: it is the hormone that raises blood sugar, and using it deliberately for weight loss took a while to make sense to people.

  1. 01
GLP-1 reduces what you take in
The familiar half: slower stomach emptying, quieter appetite.
  2. 02
    Glucagon raises what you spend
It pushes the liver and fat tissue to release and burn stored fuel, so energy leaves the body as well as arriving less.
  3. 03
Fatty liver improved alongside the weight
The phase 2 trial in liver disease was the notable result, not the weight figure, and it is what the drug is being developed around.

What else is it used for?

Each use below carries its own evidence level. Approved means regulators have cleared it for that purpose. Investigational means it is in trials. Early research means it is being studied and is not established.

How much, and do you cycle it?

The range, and whether you take breaks.

2.4 up to 6 mg per week (start low, increase slowly), weekly. Not cycled in the trialsTrial dose

Given continuously for the whole study period: SYNCHRONIZE-1 and -2, 76 weeks. The dose is stepped up at the start, which is a ramp rather than a cycle, and no trial in this class built in a planned break.

How do I dose and price it?

Enter your vial and your dose. Pick a mix. We show the draw and the cost.

The vial holds a fixed amount of drug. Adding more water does not make more drug, it just spreads it thinner, so you draw a bigger number on the syringe for the same dose.

07

How do you store it?

Before mixing, and after.

Dry powder in the freezer or fridge. Once mixed, fridge, and use within about a month.

Unmixed lyophilized Survodutide keeps for a long time cold. Once you add water the clock starts: most reconstituted vials hold up for roughly 28 to 30 days at fridge temperature. Keep it out of light, and do not freeze it after mixing.

08

What are the side effects and cautions?

Known cautions and warnings for this compound.

Who should avoid it

Check these before anything else.
  • No formal contraindications established, since it is still investigational
  • Pregnancy

Stop and get help

These are emergencies. Seek care.
  • Vomiting badly enough that you cannot keep fluids down
  • Severe stomach pain that spreads to your back
  • Signs of an allergic reaction such as face or throat swelling, hives, or trouble breathing

Common effects

Expected, and usually mild.
  • Nausea in about two thirds of trial participants
  • Diarrhea in about half, vomiting in about four in ten
  • About 20% stopped the trial because of side effects, mostly stomach-related

Where this page says nothing is established, that means nobody has studied it, not that a compound is safe.

09

Is Survodutide approved?

And where the numbers on this page come from.

No. Survodutide is not approved anywhere and is currently in company-run clinical trials. There is no legal route to obtain it outside a trial.
