01

What is CagriSema?

Plain language first. The technical label stays, but it never stands alone.

Overview

It hits two separate fullness pathways at once for bigger weight loss than either alone. It is still experimental.

The technical version

CagriSema is a fixed combination of cagrilintide (an amylin copy) and semaglutide (a GLP-1 copy) in one weekly shot.

What it's used for

A weekly two-in-one shot combining an appetite-lowering peptide with semaglutide, for bigger weight loss than either alone.

02

How does CagriSema work?

What it does in the body, and where.

CagriSema is two drugs in one weekly injection: cagrilintide and semaglutide, at fixed doses. The logic is that two separate fullness pathways should add up.

  1. 01
    Semaglutide handles the GLP-1 side
    Appetite, stomach emptying, blood sugar.
  2. 02
    Cagrilintide handles the amylin side
A different route to fullness, so the two do not compete for the same receptor.
  3. 03
    Fixed doses, titrated together
Both components rise on one schedule over roughly 16 weeks, so you cannot adjust one without the other.
  4. 04
Filed with the FDA, not approved
The application went in during December 2025. Until a decision, this remains investigational.

03

What else is it used for?

Each use below carries its own evidence level. Approved means regulators have cleared it for that purpose. Investigational means it is in trials. Early research means it is being studied and is not established.

How much, and do you cycle it?

The range, and whether you take breaks.

2.4 mg per week, weekly. Not cycled in the trialsTrial dose

Given continuously for the whole study period: REDEFINE 1, 68 weeks. The dose is stepped up at the start, which is a ramp rather than a cycle, and no trial in this class built in a planned break.

05

How long does it stay in the body?

The half-life, and where the figure comes from.

6 to 8 days for both partsTrial protocol

Cagrilintide and semaglutide in one injection. Measured together in the same trial, cagrilintide runs about 159 to 195 hours and semaglutide about 145 to 165. They happen to be close, which is why weekly dosing works for the pair.

How do I dose and price it?

Enter your vial and your dose. Pick a mix. We show the draw and the cost.

The vial holds a fixed amount of drug. Adding more water does not make more drug, it just spreads it thinner, so you draw a bigger number on the syringe for the same dose.

Unlike the community blends, this ratio is not a vendor choice. CagriSema is a fixed 1:1 co-formulation and the trials that produced its results used 2.4 mg of each. Research-market vials are usually labelled 5/5 or 10/10, which describes the vial rather than a dose. Read the per-component milligrams off your label, because a vial marked 10 mg total holds 5 mg of each.

07

How do you store it?

Before mixing, and after.

Dry powder in the freezer or fridge. Once mixed, fridge, and use within about a month.

Unmixed lyophilized CagriSema keeps for a long time cold. Once you add water the clock starts: most reconstituted vials hold up for roughly 28 to 30 days at fridge temperature. Keep it out of light, and do not freeze it after mixing.
