ARA-290 (cibinetide) is an 11-amino-acid peptide carved from the tissue-protective part of erythropoietin (EPO), the hormone that makes red blood cells.

A peptide studied for calming nerve pain and inflammation, especially in diabetic nerve damage, without affecting red blood cells.
