ARA-290 (cibinetide) is an 11-amino-acid peptide carved from the tissue-protective part of erythropoietin (EPO), the hormone that makes red blood cells.

The phase 2 trials in small-fibre neuropathy and type 2 diabetes ran daily injections for 28 days and stopped. That is the only duration with human data behind it. Nothing has been published on repeating the course or on how long to wait before doing so.
