How do you store it?

Unmixed lyophilized PE-22-28 keeps for a long time cold. Once you add water the clock starts: most reconstituted vials hold up for roughly 28 to 30 days at fridge temperature. Keep it out of light, and do not freeze it after mixing.

  • Shortened spadin analogs display better TREK-1 inhibition, in vivo stability and antidepressant activity, Frontiers in Pharmacology(2017)
    The paper that created PE 22-28, and the origin of every number quoted for it. The compound was designed by taking spadin, letting mouse serum degrade it, and picking the shortest fragment that still blocked the TREK-1 potassium channel. It blocks that channel about 300 times more tightly than spadin does, with an IC50 of 0.12 nM against 40 to 60 nM, and it left four related channels and the cardiac hERG channel alone. The antidepressant evidence is entirely mouse behaviour: forced swim, novelty-suppressed feeding and learned helplessness, ten mice per group, at 3 micrograms per kilogram injected into the abdomen. Read the duration claim carefully. The widely quoted figure of about 23 hours was measured only on two chemically modified versions, G/A-PE 22-28 and its biotinylated form; PE 22-28 itself was not in that experiment, and the serum stability method describes spadin rather than PE 22-28. No human study of this peptide exists.
